Jamia engineering student grabs headlines

The Battle of Signs, an innovative Strategic Game designed by Sarthak Kumar, a B.Tech Civil Engineering, 4th year student of Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has been launched in the market by India’s top toy manufacturing company Funskool.

The game has earlier won the Toycathon-2021 Competition under Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan. Toycathon-2021 is an inter-ministerial initiative organized by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell with support from All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of Women and Child Development, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of MSME, Ministry of Textiles and Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Najma Akhtar congratulated Sarthak for the achievement and wished him success in future endeavors. She said Government of India has taken several initiatives like Toycathan which are providing right platforms to local and young talents to showcase their inventions.

Toycathon-2021 was conceived to challenge India’s innovative minds to conceptualize novel Toy and Games based on Bharatiya civilization, history, culture, mythology and ethos in which around 1.2 lakh participants from across the country registered.

The Battle of Signs game starts by occupying a space on the gameboard with a plus or minus coin and continues to occupy the spaces. There are Two Modes of Play: Regular Mode and Battle Mode. The first player to capture any two straight lines or a diagonal is the winner of the game.
