The young son of Sayyad Atique, former general secretary of the RWA in Shaheen Bagh, tragically lost his life in a road accident on October 6, as reported in a widely circulated social media message in Okhla.
Naved, a 22-year-old engineer, was laid to rest in Shaheen Bagh graveyard after Maghrib prayer today, according to a member of the RWA.
Naved completed his studies from Jamia Millia Islamia.
The exact location of the accident in Delhi remains unknown. However, residents who are aware of the incident have mentioned that Naved met with an accident while en route to a mosque outside Okhla on his motorcycle, where he intended to offer Friday prayer.
One resident described the incident, stating that a dumper truck struck him in a part of Delhi outside Okhla.
Tanweer, who is acquainted with the family, said the family has lost their only son. It was just six months ago that Naved completed his engineering degree from Jamia and secured a job.
According to Tanweer, on that fateful Friday, Naved was on his way to a mosque from his office in Delhi and met with an accident, leading to his untimely demise.
Another resident of Shaheen Bagh, Maqsood Alam, said: “He was only 22 years old and had completed a three-year diploma programme from Jamia Polytechnic. He was the younger and only son among three sisters in Atique’s family. The family has been residing in the area for the past 23 to 24 years, and they moved to their own flat in E-block nine years ago.”
The incident has left residents in deep shock.
