Residents praised the police for the action though late.

It is noted that the OT was first to raise the issue with its July 17 video report getting 69,000 viewership with 172 comments.

Then many netizens, most of them Okhla residents, had demanded immediate action in removing the tramps staying illegally under the metro station road.

Noor Nagar resident Md Faiz said the move is highly appreciated and it should be permanent. He said it has been seen that these people after being removed make a comeback. It makes no sense that these people occupy the whole area at the entrance of the Jamia Freedom Fountain, said another resident.

For years, Ghaffar Manzil residents had been demanding for their removal. They sought a permanent solution to the encroachment with the tramps seen doing everything on the road.

Many residents heaved a sigh of relief and said it should be permanent.
