Delhi announces stricter Covid-19 curbs: Know what’s allowed, what’s not
With Delhi witnessing surge in Convid-19 cases, the Delhi Government have announced stricter curbs to contain the spread. On Saturday, according to the health bulletin, Delhi reported 7,897 cases of coronavirus.
Among the curbs announced by the media are letting Delhi Metro and DTC buses to operate only at 50 per cent capacity, according to media reports. Also, the number of guests has been limited at weddings to 50.
Besides, all social, political, sports, entertainment, cultural and religious gatherings have been prohibited. From those travelling from Maharashtra to Delhi by air will be required negative RT-PCR report, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority said, adding those without a report will have to undergo 14-day quarantine.
It further said restaurants, bars can operate at 50 per cent occupancy. Delhi Metro, DTC and cluster buses will run at 50 per cent occupancy.
It said colleges and coaching institutions will remain closed in Delhi. Not more than 20 people are allowed in funeral gatherings, it said. Swimming pools will also remain closed except for training of sportspersons participating in national and international events.
Private offices and organisations advised staggering office timings. DDMA has advised that the offices follow the practice of work from home as much as possible, reported the NDTV.
Only essential activities to be allowed in containment zones and there will be no restriction on intra-state and inter-state movement of people and goods.
