Service van breakdown chokes AFE

A service van broke down at 4 number in Abul Fazal Enclave at 5.30 pm today triggering more than a kilometer long traffic snarl.

A resident said after the service van breakdown, a DTC bus which was coming from AFE towards Kalindi Kunj tried to take wrong side and this led to gridlock.

Following which some bikers and autos also took wrong side leading to chaos on the road for more than 20 minutes.

Things were only sorted out after some residents stepped in and reprimanded bikers taking wrong side.

Some residents were seen helping the driver park his breakdown vehicle on the left side of the road so that the road could be cleared, said residents.

The bus driver also backed his vehicle to clear the road, said a resident, adding that by then there was a long traffic jam.
Residents lamented that traffic jam due to people taking wrong side has become a nuisance in the locality.
