6 places where you can get free shots in Okhla

As cases are surging in Delhi and across India, many people are lining up to get Covid vaccines at camps. In Okhla too free vaccination camps are being held.

All these free vaccination camps in Okhla are being organised by CII foundation, a non-governmental trade association and advocacy group headquartered in New Delhi, with just logistic supports from a few.

However, it is seen that some political leaders are trying to take credit of the camps by putting posters outside giving an impression that they are holding these camps, said a resident, adding that political leaders whether ruling or in opposition and facebookya activists are missing from action from the ground.

In Okhla free Covid camps for residents, 15+ and boosters for elderly are being held in (1) Meezan Charitable clinic next to Zakir Nagar mosque building, (2) Sunrise School, near Al-Noor Masjid, Nafees Road, opposition Batla House, (3) Milli Model School in Abul Fazal Enclave, (4) Kalindi Kunj office of former Okhla MLA Asif Md Khan and (5) Shram Vihar, said Abdullah of CII, adding that they are trying to get sanction for Jaitpur location also.

Khedmat NGO in Zakir Nagar is providing logistic support to CII foundation in Meezan Charitable clinic and Batla House school, said Faiz Ilahi, adding that in Human Solidarity Foundation which runs Meezan is also providing support. Some 148 got vaccinated, including 60 children, in Batla House only.

The camp is being held from 10 am to 4 pm.

Activists associated with the drive said for the last few days they have seen residents turning up to take free shots, a positive signs.

For creating awareness among residents, two e-rickshaws are also being run and funded by the CII Foundation.
