An incident in a Batla House apartment, where a father allegedly stabbed his son, has left residents and neighbours in deep shock.

A resident said the incident took place on Monday morning. After stabbing his son, the man came downstairs and instructed a local resident to inform the police about the incident, said a local resident.

The latest health condition of the victim is not known. Some residents overheard discussions suggesting that, although he has been rushed to a local hospital, the chances of his survival are bleak.

As the investigation is in its initial stages, the reason behind the stabbing is not yet known. A police team and officers from the forensic department were spotted at the Khalillulah Mosque, according to residents.

One resident said while passing through the area, he stopped after seeing the forensic van. After interacting with residents, he learned about the stabbing incident.

“There is a forensic van at Khalilullah Masjid, with some police officials talking to some locals out there. Seems some incident has happened there,” said a resident on condition of anonymity.

Details are still sketchy, but residents said the boy most probably in his 30s was rushed to a local hospital, and the accused father has been arrested.

When asked about the reason behind the incident, residents said they had no idea, as nobody saw what happened and the incident most probably took place in the house.

It is understood that the family is from a city in Uttar Pradesh (UP) and has been residing in the locality for years. An activist who also turned up at the spot said he too is not aware about the reason behind the stabbing.
