    Olympic medalist Sushil, singer Jassi create Swachh Survekshan-2021 awareness

    In order to increase enthusiasm among people for Swachh Survekshan-2021, the SDMC organised a mega awareness programme at Pacific Mall in West Zone’s Subhash Nagar, it said.

    Olympic medal winner Sushil Kumar and singer Jasbir Jassi were the Chief Guest of the programme where people in mass took ‘Swachhta Pledge’, it said.

    Wrestler Sushil gave a message of Swacchhta and said participation of each and every people is necessary to ensure success of Swachhta Abhiyan. Singer Jasbir made people aware about Swachh Survekshan and his mesmerizing musical performance grabbed the attention of the audience. Students of SDMC’s Raghubir Nagar School performed  ‘Nukkad Natak’ to spread message of Swacchhta.

    On the occasion Commissioner Gyanesh Bharti said the civic agency is making special efforts to improve ranking in Swachh Survekshan-2021.

    He said the drive can be successful with the active participation of people. He appealed people to keep their surroundings clean, do not litter garbage , use green and blue dustbins for throwing garbage, do not  use plastic bags, make area open defecation free, etc.

    He said behaviour of people can be changed through such awareness programmes. He said similar programmes will be organised in other zones too.

    Leader of House Narendra Chawla said in view of Swachh Survekshan-2021, the SDMC is doing tremendous job. The civic agency has been conducting various Swachhta related programmes in which local people, RWAs, Market Associations, Self Help Groups, etc have been extending their support by ensuring their activities participation.

    He said message of Swacchhta will spread among people through such programmes. He also requested people to participate in Swachh Survekshan-2021 to make the city clean.

    Deputy Commissioner Rahul Singh thanked guests and people for attending the programme in large number. He said showing presence in large, people have encouraged the corporation officials. Entire Swachhta team will work with dedication and determination to make Swachh Survekshan.

    On the occasion, Commissioner Gyanesh Bharti, Leader of House Narendra Chawla, Chairman of West Zone Col. B K Oberoi, Deputy Commissioner of West Zone Rahul Singh, Nodal Officer of Swachh Bharat Mission Rajiv Kumar Jain, Councillors from West Zone and senior officials from SDMC were present.
