All across Delhi, political parties are busy with their campaign. To gauge the mood of the voters, the OT team interacts with local residents to get their view of point and understand which party is at the forefront of the election 2022.

Residents of Zakir Nagar and Batla House too expressed their views and discussed in details area’s most burning issues. With the ward being reserved for women, three-time Councillor Shoaib Danish wife is up against anti-incumbency. But till now they have managed to be in the race. Danish’s wife Nazia Danish facing AAP’s Salama Aariz Khan. The other candidates in the fray is Laddan’s wife. A close aide of Okhla MLA Amanatullah Khan, Laddan quit AAP after he was denied ticket and joined AIMIM getting ticket for his wife, who declined to give interview to OT saying she is uncomfortable as she wears full-face hijab. BJP candidate is also doing her best to win hearts and minds of voters.

Ariz Khan’s wife Salama has attacked Danish and alleged that he has turned Batla House and Zakir Nagar into piles of garbage. However, a resident said Danish has an edge over other candidates as there is no alternative. Had AAP given ticket to Mahmood Ahmed the scenario would have been different, said a resident Rumi, giving just only one name. He said though Danish too has failed to develop the area he gets hyper active six months before election and people forget about his past and vote for him, he said. In the previous election AAP leader Mahmood had given Danish a tough fight losing the election with a very small margin.

All told, many residents said it is too early to jump to any conclusion as voters’ mood change every day in such election and hence it is better to wait and watch till the end.
