Tomato price sees sharp rise in Okhla

Throwing light on the rise in price of tomato, an Abul Fazal Enclave-based shopkeeper said due to monsoon less tomatoes are coming in mandi and now whatever is available is from Shimla.
However, media reports attribute to rise in price of tomato to crop failure due to rain and later landing on the vegetable in the mandis.
Residents recalled that how a month ago they have been buying tomatoes at cheap rate. Chances are high that as tomatoes from Himachal Pradesh land in the mandis, prices will come down.
