Video of Talib’s last moment in Batla House surfaces
A video of beating of Talib Samadani, 25, has surfaced on the social media with some even sharing it, but the OT has decided not to do so due to hair-triggering scene of the last moment most probably captured on CCTV camera installed in the lane where the fight over gulli danda started.
In the video which residents are sharing and whose authenticity could not be established by the OT, a few are seen thrashing Talib with lathi, brick and other items. As the video has no voice nothing can be made out. A resident who is well aware of the development told the OT over phone that the video is of the beating of Talib.
As the OT is a community portal and it doesn’t run after TRP, editorial decision at the highest level was taken to post the video on social media platform.
Talib was beaten by his neighbours over a fight triggered while some children were playing gulli danda in Batla House in JogaBai extension as claimed by his family members. They said Talib, a painter and only son in the poor family with two sisters, tried to pacify things following which a group of people started beating him. After sustaining life-threatening injuries, he was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on Saturday morning.
Arrests have been made and FIR registered and the probe is on.
