Talbina is made from barley, dry fruits, milk, dates and/or honey. It is believed that eating Talbina has many benefits.  Talbina is very effective in removing weakness after an illness.  Our beloved prophet Muhammad (SAW) used to say that Talbina removes sadness from the heart of the sick and removes their weakness as if someone washes their face with water and removes dirt from it. Talbina strengthens the heart and also relieves depression.

Recent researches have also proved that barley is a healthy beneficial grain and has medicinal properties. Barley has 10 times more calcium than milk and more iron than spinach.  Apart from this, all the necessary vitamins are also found in barley.  It is worth noting that Talbina is very good not only for the sick but also for the healthy people.

Talbina can also be prepared at home.  To make it, boil milk and add barley to it and cook it on a low flame for 10-15 minutes.  Keep stirring the milk with a spoon.  When this mixture becomes somewhat like a pudding, crush some dates and mix with it.  You can add some honey if you want it a little sweet.  Now take it off the stove and cool it.  Garnish some almonds and pistachios on top.  Tasty and nutritious Talbina is ready to serve.

Talbina has many advantages and properties.  It helps to relieve depression, anxiety, fatigue, and sadness.  Apart from this, it is very effective in back pain, lack of hemoglobin in the blood, weakness of memory, loss of appetite, excess cholesterol, physical weakness, heart and stomach diseases etc. Talbina is a natural antidote and enhances immunity.

Then what are you waiting for?  Make this simple yet very effective recipe at home and stay healthy.  If you are too busy to make it at home, nowadays you can get readymade Talbina in the market too.
