Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said on Wednesday that the number of Covid cases has stabilised in Delhi.

“It seems like Covid cases have stabilised in Delhi, soon we will see a decline. If Covid-19 cases come down in 2-3 days, restrictions will be lifted,” said the Minister, adding that the city is likely to see around 25,000 cases today.

Providing detailed information on corona cases in the city, Jain said: “For the last few days, close to 20,000 cases have been arriving daily in Delhi, and the positivity rate has consistently been around 25 per cent. Aside from that, the number of people admitted to hospitals is not growing. Only 2,209 of the existing total 14,621 reserved beds for Corona are occupied, with the remaining 12,412 beds remaining vacant. This means that 85 per cent of the beds are still available, and the Delhi Government has made plans to increase them if necessary.”

He asserted that the positivity rate has remained around 25 per cent for the last few days, indicating that the corona has reached its peak. “I hope that this corona peak ends as soon as possible so that corona cases in Delhi and the country can be reduced and the outbreak can be ended,” he said.

In terms of deaths caused by corona, Jain stated that there are very few cases among patients admitted to ICU in hospitals who have been admitted due to corona.
