Activist Sharib’s father Sirajul Hassan loses battle to cancer
Okhla residents are mourning the death of activist Sharib’s father Sirajul Hassan. Sharib’s father, who was unwell for days and undergoing treatment at a Delhi hospital, passed away a few hours ago, said a family friend Md Jabir.
Sharib shared the information about his father’s death on the social media soliciting hundreds of condolence messages. Jabir said Sirajul Hassan, 67, is to be laid to rest at Shaheen Bagh graveyard most probably at 9.30 pm today.
On January 12, Sharib had informed the OT that his father had tested Covid positive and had recovered after some days. “My symptoms are mild. I got test of my other family members today. I am worried about my father as he is a blood cancer patient and undergoing treatment,” Sharib had posted then on the social media.
As Sirajul Hassan was a cancer patient, he was hospitalised for treatment a few days ago and could not recover from the ailment.
Based in Okhla, Sharib is basically from Mau in Uttar Pradesh and is a known figure in the locality. After the information about the death of his father surfaced on the social media, many netizens started sharing the information and mourned his passing away.
Sirajul Hassan has left behind wife, Sharib and a daughter.
