“Just see how the solar panel has been dented at three places after being hit by stones thrown by some unidentified residents. I don’t understand what is the point in damaging the solar panel parked on the fourth floor of the house? It was give months ago that I got it installed on my rooftop and suddenly one morning I saw stones thrown on the building. After inspection, I saw dents on my solar panel. I Initially I was furious and thought to inform police but then I gave up. It appears that it is not work of children but some grown up people done intentionally by some neighbuors to vandalise the solar rooftop,” said Dr Anwar, a resident of Shaheen Bagh at thokar number 7.

Installation of solar panels are picking up in Delhi. However, in Jamia Nagar you will see only a few on the houses rooftop. And such incidents of (vandalising) will only deter people from getting it installed, said another resident. He said there are children who throw stones for fun unaware of the fact that they can also cause damages to some stuff. He said one has to be extra careful while installing solar panels.

The best thing to avoid such things is to build a frame on the outside and install a fine mesh.
