Carried sanitisation drive in all 104 wards: SDMC

The South Delhi Municipal Corporation has intensified its Sanitisation Drive in all 104 wards, it said.

In today’s drive, nearly 250 public place were sanitised in all 104 wards, it said, adding that focus was given to sanitise containment zone, quarantine/isolation centres, vaccination centres, Covid testing centres and hospitals.

“18 jetting machines and 5 tankers are used to carry out the drive. The area which were covered were Sangam Vihar, Mohan Garden, Raghubir Nagar, Tagore Garden, Pochanpur Village, Govindpuri, R K Puram, Nanakpur, Lajpat Nagar, Janakpuri, Birender Nagar, Rojouri Garden, Punjabi Bagh Market, Palam, Saket, Sangam Vihar, Pushp Vihar, Madangir, Tilak Nagar, Defence Colony, Hari Nagar, etc.

“With the help of 80 auto tippers, nearly 20 kilograms bio-medical waste and 20 metric tonnes MSW are being lifted from Covid affected homes. Garbage are being lifted by adopting all safety precautions and its disposal is being done properly. Waste removed is being collected at a dedicated centre and then it is being sent at Okhla waste-to-energy plant for incineration.Staff/Safai Sainiks deployed for this work have been taking all safety precautions,” it said.
