Ariz wins ticket battle, gets AAP ticket for wife from Zakir Nagar.
Salma Khan is now official candidate of AAP from Zakir Nagar ward, a women reserved seat. The others who were in the race for ticket but failed to get one are Mahmood Ahmed, Khateeb Tihami, Shakil Saifi, Laddan and others.

Now, Salma will be up against sitting Councillor Shoaib Danish wife. A political observer said though the denial of ticket to Mahmood and others, who were also close to AAP Okhla MLA Amanatullah Khan, has spark resentment in the Okhla AAP, it would be interesting see how Salma is going to counter Danish who has already won from the seat for three times.
After getting the ticket, there was celebration in the locality and in a late night meeting influential people from Western Uttar Pradesh have come out to support Salma constituency. A house wife, she will be fighting against another stay-at home mother.
Since the date of the Councillor election was announced, Ariz had been at the forefront of an aggressive drive to drum up support for his wife and it appears that to some he has succeeded in impressing upon top leaders of the AAP who decided to give ticket to his wife.
