Mayor starts special plantation drive

Mayor Anamika, along with Opposition Leader (Delhi Legislative Assembly) Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, started a special plantation drive in Om Vihar ward of Central Zone.

Around 500 tree saplings planted in different parks of Om Vihar area, said the agency in a statement.

On the occasion, she said in Vivekanand park, which is the largest park of the ward, around 60 tonnes of garbage and malba has been removed and 300 saplings have been planted for the beautification of the park.

The Mayor said she herself has taken the responsibility of this park and changed its name to Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Park.

On the occasion, National Vice President BJP Shyam Jaju, local councilor Birendri Awana and other SDMC officials were present.

On the occasion, the Mayor said the SDMC is conducting a mega plantation drive in all its four zones and under this drive, we have the target of planting one lakh trees.

She urged the citizens to join the campaign and contribute towards making Delhi green and pollution free.
