    PKL Season 12: Haryana Steelers beats U Mumba in tie-breaker

    In season 12 of the Pro Kabaddi League, Haryana Steelers registered their first win. They defeated U Mumba in this thrilling match played at Vishwanath Sports Club Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday. The match was so tough that the score was tied and then the result came out from the tiebreaker.  Haryana won 7-6 in the tiebreaker.

    U Mumba started the match in a strong manner. Their player Ajit Chauhan scored points in the very first raid. The team soon took a 5-0 lead. After this, U Mumba made continuous strong tackles and put Haryana under pressure. Within six minutes, Haryana Steelers had to face the first all-out. The score at that time was 12-2. This proved to be the fastest all-out of this season.

    However, after this Haryana started a comeback. By the 10th minute the score became 8-14. Shivam tackled Ajit and took him out. Haryana then got U Mumba all out. The score reached 12-16. Before half time, Vinay did a brilliant raid and also got Ajit out. After this, the score became 19-20. Vinay equalized the score by taking one more point. But till half time, U Mumba was ahead by 23-20.

    U Mumba also started the second half well. But Haryana’s Naveen Kumar played a nice game. He continuously raided and scored points. Naveen also did a super raid which gave Haryana the lead. The match reached an exciting turn. When the score reached 34-34, there was a close fight between the two teams. Shivam gave Haryana the lead, but Ajit equalised the score.

    The result of the match didn’t come out till the last minutes. The score remained tied at 36-36 and the match went to tiebreaker. Haryana made a great start in the tiebreaker. Shivam Patare did a super raid in which three players were out. This decisive raid turned the match in Haryana’s favour. U Mumba tried to make a comeback but unbale to do it. Finally, Haryana won the match 7-6.

    Naveen Kumar’s contribution was important for this victory. He scored 9 points. Apart from him, Vinay scored 8 and Shivam Patare scored 6 points. These three together strengthened Haryana. For U Mumba, Ajit Chauhan played well and scored 12 points. But his hard work could not make his team win. This was the third tiebreaker match of this season.
