Days after tremors had jolted residents of Delhi-NCR, including Okhla, in late night, another earthquake shook Delhi, at 8 pm on Saturday with the epicentre being Nepal.

The tremor lasted for a few seconds but a few residents could feel it. One resident said the tremor was felt at 8 pm and there were three of them. However, many residents said they couldn’t feel as they were busy in their daily work.

“An earthquake of magnitude 5.4 occurred in Nepal, at around 7:57pm, today. The depth of the earthquake was 10 km below the ground: National Center for Seismology,” reported the ANI.

The tremors were felt as an earthquake measuring 5.4 jolted Nepal, 212 km southeast of Joshimath in Uttarakhand. According to the National Center for Seismology, the quake originated in Nepal at a depth of 10 km with Latitude 29.28 N and Longitude 81.20 E.

Other cities where tremors were also felt included parts of Uttarakhand, including cities like New Tehri, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Pauri and others. It was also felt in parts of Uttar Pradesh.

“The origin of the earthquake was 10 km deep and 3 km from Silanga town of Nepal. The affected countries are India, China and Nepal,” Pithoragarh Disaster Management Officer BS Mahar told PTI.

Till the filing of the report no harm to life and damage was reported in Okhla and other parts of Delhi.
