Neha Rathore’s song ka ba reaches Abul Fazal Enclave, know who tried it in Okhla

Neha Rathore’s song ka ba reaches Abul Fazal Enclave, know who tried it in Okhla

Neha Singh Rathore’s viral song “Ka Ba” — earlier popular in Bihar and now in Uttar Pradesh — has made its way to Abul Fazal Enclave (ward number 101S), with Parvez Alam, a photographer-turned-politician, using it to target his political opponent, AAP Councillor Wajid Khan.

A video being shared by him and his ardent supporters on social media shows him singing a version of Neha Rathore’s “UP Mein Ka Ba,” replacing “UP” with “Abul Fazal Mein Ka Ba.”

In the video, he is seen singing Neha Rathore’s lines while highlighting the poor state of affairs in Abul Fazal Enclave (AFE).

Before entering politics full-time, Parvez Alam worked as a photographer for ABP News and other media outlets.

In the 2017 MCD polls, Parvez Alam unsuccessfully contested on a Congress ticket from the AFE ward. The seat was won by Aam Aadmi Party’s Wajid Khan.

Now that the seat has been reserved for women, it is likely that Khan may field his wife from the AFE ward. Other male aspirants may also consider fielding their wives, sisters or mothers.

However, it is still too early to draw any conclusions.

With the MCD elections just months away, other political aspirants across Okhla’s five wards are exploring various ways to win the hearts and minds of residents.

The date of the MCD polls is still awaited, but political aspirants from the BJP, Congress, AAP, and other parties are already preparing for the big contest.

While Parvez Alam’s adaptation of Neha Rathore’s song has been praised by his supporters and fans in Okhla, it has also drawn criticism from others.

“If Parvez Alam is so serious about the condition of the AFE ward, he should have worked to improve it,” said Syed Tahzeen, an AAP supporter. Wajid Khan’s close aide, Saud Khan, said: “The problem with Congress is that its leaders don’t want to do any groundwork. They rely on gimmicks to score points, which won’t help them win elections. And such videos are only limited to social media.”

Before the rise of AAP in Okhla and Delhi, the area was a Congress stronghold. However, residents who voted AAP into power in the Assembly and MCD had hoped its leaders — including MLA Amanatullah Khan and Councillor Wajid Khan (both from AAP) — would work to improve the area. They now lament that the situation in Wajid’s ward remains pathetic even after four years of rule.

Residents said Wajid came to power promising to solve the garbage issue, but with MCD elections approaching, the situation in Shaheen Bagh and Abul Fazal Enclave has not improved.

Garbage dumped in front of Al Shifa Hospital in Abul Fazal Enclave and near Block 8 in Shaheen Bagh, in front of a local mosque, has become a major issue. Residents said garbage is left out in the open for days, causing inconvenience to commuters. The stench is so strong that people can hardly bear to walk past it.

According to residents, garbage dumped in the open is going to be a major issue during MCD election.
