Khalid and his partner Shashank Kumar defeated the Japanese team in the doubles event and he marginally lost to the Japanese player in singles event.

The Indian High commissioner at Uganda Shri A. Ajay Kumar also felicitated Khalid and other members of the Indian team by giving appreciation certificates at the Indian High Commission, Kampala, Uganda.

Khalid is representing NCT of Delhi at the national level in Para Badminton and with this achievement Khalid became the first player from Delhi to win a medal in any international Para Badminton event.

JMI Vice Chancellor Prof. Najma Akhtar congratulated Kahlid for the achievement and wished him success in his future endeavours.

“I am very happy and it is my dream to win a medal for India in the Paralympics and Para Asian games,” said Khalid.

Earlier, Khalid won one bronze medal in singles event and another bronze in the double event at the 4th National Para Badminton Championship organised by Para Sports Association of Odisha in December, 2021 at Bhubaneswar.
