Hyderabad born nationally acclaimed artist Yasin residing in Shaheen Bagh for years dies
Nationally acclaimed artist Mohammed Yasin, 91, died today at 3:30 am at his house in Shaheen Bagh.

He had received Life Time Achievement honour from All India Craft & Fine Arts Society (AIFACS) and Aseem Asha Foundation for his exemplary works in the field of Calligraphy and visual arts, said Aseem Asha Usman.
Born in Mogalgidda, a village near Shadnagar, 30 kilometer from Hyderabad, Yasin moved to the national Capital where he has been residing in Okhla for the last five decades and he became a Delhiwala in 1965.
On getting attracted towards drawing, this is what Yasin told The Hindu years ago: “Art is my hobby.”
Though introduced to art by his wife whom he had met after moving from his village, Yasin’s tryst with Art started when he was just 14 years old.
“Once I had gone to a village and saw a marriage procession. I had its impression in my mind and created a 20×40 painting. I got influenced from people and children. What I felt, I painted; Sometimes the medium was black and white and in pen or lithograph or stone or acrylic. I chose acrylic because they dry up quickly. I had no other obligation but to paint. My inspiration was people; common people.” he reminisces, reported The Hindu.
He has left behind a wife and two sons.
