Jamia alumnus, Okhla resident Ahsan dies at 50

Jamia Millia Islamia alumnus and Okhla resident Mohammad Rahmat Ahsan, 50, died on Thursday at 7 am in his Abul Fazal Enclave flat, according to his close friend Abdul Mannan.

He told the OT over phone that he had fever and his oxygen level was down. “It was on Wednesday night that his oxygen level started decreasing and in the morning he died. Doctor had advised him for RT-PCR test after he was tested Covid positive in antigen test,” said Mannan.

Originally from Kishanganj in Bihar, Ahsan after completing his MA from Jamia Millia Islamia started his general store at AIIMS doctors’ hospital.

Mannan said he was always ready to help the needy. Narrating an incident, he said once he helped a patient from Odisha known to me with Rs 30 thousand in advance just on my one call.

Ahsan has left behind two daughters and a wife. His brother teaches at Jamia School.
