Mayor flags off 2 mobile medical vans in South Zone

SDMC Mayor Anamika along-with chairman, Standing Committee Raj Dutt Gahlot and chairperson, South Zone Dr Nadini Sharma today flagged off two mobile medical vans from Malviya Nagar Market, South Zone.

On the occasion, Mayor Anamika said the SDMC in association with Wockhardt Foundation has taken this initiative to deploy these medical vans in areas of South Delhi.

She said these medical vans will cater to the socio-economically disadvantaged communities by providing free cost primary healthcare facilities at doorstep.

Chairman Standing Committee Rajdutt Gahlot said these vans are equipped with the all medical and diagnosis facilities which includes Blood Pressure Machine, Glucometer, Nebulizer, Oxymeter, Non-Contact Thermometer, Hepatitis, Malaria Kit,  Mobile Pathology Lab and all the medicines like anti-biotics, pain killers, and anti-allergic tablets.

A medical team which includes a doctor, pharmacists, lab technicians are deployed in the van. The GPS enabled van will take round in the Khanpur, Madangir, Malviya Nagar and surrounding areas.

Chairperson South Zone and local councillor Dr Nandini Sharma said on the death anniversary of late Arun Jaitly, we are dedicating these mobile vans to the citizens of south Delhi.

These mobile dispensary vans are to provide health care facilities to people, in areas with no such facilities. People can get check-ups done and the patient will be referred to nearby hospitals or diagnostic centres for further treatment, if needed, she said.

On the occasion Dy Commissioner Aman Verma, councillor Safdarjung Enclave Radhika Abrol and other councillors were present.
