People regular to Dawat Nagar mosque in Okhla are in disbelief that religious leader Khwaja Arifuddin, who captivated devotees during Friday Khutba at the mosque, is no more.

According to sever social media posts, Khawaja Arifuddin, a senior Jamaat leader and former Ameer e Halaqa of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha died three days ago in Hyderabad.
As the National Secretary for Social Service at Markaz in his previous term, Khawaja Arifuddin was off and on seen delivering Friday Khutba at the Markaz mosque, said residents.
“Hailing from the town of Warangal, Telangana, he played an active role in the establishment of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind’s student organisation SIO. He performed various responsibilities from Unit President, State Secretary, and of Ameer-e-Halqa of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind. At the local level also he was engaged in various social, welfare and education activities,” said the JIH portal.
