Jamia Teachers’ Association, Jamia Millia Islamia, said an amount of Rs 15 lakh is all set to be disbursed directly into the accounts of Jamia students who have won JTA scholarships this year.

The process of selection was delayed amid the prevalence of COVID-19, and we made a paperless plan thereafter, said the JTA. Applications were invited online and more than 1400 applications were received. In the third week of March online interviews were conducted with the help of 150 teachers serving as the judges of juries in numerous panels.

JTA president Prof. Majid Jamil extended best wishes to the student and prayed for their safety from COVID-19.

He expressed his gratitude to Prof. Syed Inayat Zaidi, Former Secretary of JTA for starting JTA Scholarships in 2012. JTA Vice President Prof. Nafis Ahmad and EC members expressed their happiness for helping out students in a hard time of global pandemic and urge students to keep stress-free and focus on their studies.

JTA hopes that the present time of depression and negativity will vanish away and we are here to fight it collectively.

JTA will continue to help the students in their studies, career-shaping, and financially, said Dr. M. Irfan Qureshi, Secretary.

He expressed his gratitude towards his teachers who turned turn jury, Jamia Finance Section for online remittance to student bank accounts, Executive committee, specially Scholarship Team members Dr. Mohsin Ali and Mohammad Salim who worked hard till the end.

JTA President thanked Dr. Qureshi for making everything paperless and online including video interviews and direct account transfer of scholarship amount.
