Holy Family Hospital incident update: Jamia student injured in firing by another student
The firing at Holy Family Hospital on Thursday at 10 pm was the result of fighting between two groups of students of Jamia Millia Islamia in which one student Noman Chaudhary (26), a resident of Meerut district in Uttar Pradesh, sustained blunt injury on his head.

The injured was admitted in the Holy Family Hospital, but later on shifted to AIIMS trauma centre.
In the incident, one law student, Noman Chaudhary (26), a resident of Meerut district in Uttar Pradesh, sustained blunt injury on his head and had gone to the Holy Family Hospital for treatment, the officer said, reported the HT.
“There was a clash between two groups in the locality, and some injured persons were brought to the hospital Emergency. One shot was fired in the Emergency between the clashing groups. No bystanders, other patients or hospital staffers were injured. The situation was immediately brought under control,” the hospital said in a statement.
According to Delhi Police, a PCR call was received around 9 pm on Thursday at Jamia Nagar police station regarding a brawl at the library inside Jamia, reported ANI.
Adil Pradhan told the media at Holy Family Hospital a few minutes after the incident that his brother, a law student at Jamia and who won the CR election, got injured in the shooting but he is out of danger.
The firing is result of clash between two students’ groups of Jamia: The Mewati and UP.
The OT was told by some students that there was tension on the campus on Thursday with fight erupting between two groups but it was sorted out.
Probe has begun.
