Girl flees home to escape restrictions imposed by family, reunited with family by Jamia Nagar police


A girl, who left her home to escape restrictions imposed by family members to leave a carefree life, was re-united with her parents, said the police.

After a complaint was received at Police Station Jamia Nagar regarding missing of one girl “X”, the police said it took up the case on priority basis and launched manhunt to trace the girl’s whereabouts.

Following which a dedicated team of PS Jamia Nagar of South East District led by SI Liyakat Ali under the supervision of ACP/NFC was formed and the girl was traced and re-united her with her family, said the police.

CCTV footages of the cameras installed in the vicinity of Jamia Nagar was analysed and also door-to-door verification was done by the team members, said the police adding that the team also analysed mobile phone of her parents.

After efforts, the team located the missing girl from Prayagraj, UP, and got her re-united with the family members, said the police.

During examination, the girl disclosed that there were many restrictions on her at her home and she ran away from her home to live a carefree life, said the police.
