Jamia Millia Islamia’s AJK Mass Communication Research Centre braces to host the 13th edition of AINAA: The annual journalism festival on 16-17 February. With over 15 speakers lined up for the event, the festival will be marked by multiple sessions, panel discussions, documentary screening and photo exhibition.

Keynote address by senior journalist Saeed Naqvi and a Townhall with Rajdeep Sardesai, Consulting Editor of India Today, will be the highlight of the event. Other renowned faces from the industry who will take part in the festival include Smita Sharma, Poonam Agarwal, Chinki Sinha and Mariyam Alavi.

Young faces leading the digital media landscape, such as Priyanshi Sharma, Shadab Moizee, Asad Rehman, Seraj Ali, Zoya Hussain and Hera Rizwan will also be gracing the occasion.

AJK Mass Communication Research Centre, Jamia Millia Islamia is Asia’s premier institute for journalism and mass communication students. Since its inception in 1982, the Centre has been driven by the spirit of intellectual discourse and practical training by offering students a myriad of opportunities to step beyond the conventional.

The MA Convergent Journalism programme, initiated in 2007, at AJK MCRC is a comprehensive course designed to train aspiring journalists to navigate India’s evolving media landscape. The programme trains students in multiple modalities of production and distribution and prepares them for a complex, convergent, and fluid media environment. Students receive cross-platform training in print, radio, video, and digital media techniques.

In the past, AINAA has hosted eminent personalities spanning across the media and film industry. Over the years, the festival has grown into a significant platform for dialogue between students and media professionals. It offers an opportunity to engage with pressing questions about journalism, newsroom ethics, digital transitions, and the challenges of reporting in contemporary India.
