Outsiders’ entry to Ishat-e-Islam Masjid restricted this Friday to avoid overcrowding as number of Covid cases soar
On normal days by 1:20 pm the Ishat-e-Islam Masjid on Friday gets overcrowded, but not this Friday as it wore a deserted look, said a resident.

The mosque gates were closed for local residents to avoid overcrowding as number of Covid cases is soaring in Delhi.
The mosque is run by Jamaat-E-Islami (Hind).
A resident, who is a regular at the mosque, told the OT over phone that the entrance gate was closed and the guard didn’t let him on the campus.
Another resident told the OT over phone that entry to outsiders has been very restricted on the campus since weekend lockdown started.
It has been reported that only a small number of people, including JIH officials and workers and some outsiders, gathered to offer Friday prayer maintaining social distancing.
Since Covid cases started increasing in Delhi and in the locality, the mosque committee had asked residents to follow Covid norms with posters coming up at mosque’s entrance. Residents were asked to enter mosque with mask, senitiser and prayer mats. They were also told to follow social distancing norms.
Many residents preferred offering namaz at home following rise in Covid cases.
