Patriotic fervour pervades I-Day celebrations in Okhla

Patriotic fervour pervaded I-Day celebrations in Okhla on August 15. Flags were unfurled at several places. In Abul Fazal Enclave, the EC team headed by Syed Hashmi organised an event in the morning where Mufti-O-Imam of Chand Masjid hoisted the national flag at D office of ECM at J-65, AFE, Jamia Nagar.

On this occasion members of ECM presented their views and children presented different programmes, said Hashmi. The Mufti recalled the contributions of rules of Ulema in the Independence movement, said Hashmi.

Azhar Alam Advocates, Dr. Badr, Farrukh, Parvez, Sibghatullah, Ijtaba and other residents participated in the programme. Schoolchildren also took part in the event. RWA office AFE and other organsiations and schools in the locality held the flag hoisting event.

Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav was celebrated in God’s Grace Schools.

Students of God’s Grace Schools presented numerous cultural items depicting the 75 years of India’s Independence. The director of God’s Grace Schools Dr Syed Abid Mahmood said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s slogan of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ is quite promising, it incorporates unity in diversity and positive role of India at the world stage.

He said article 51A(j) of the Constitution of India obliges every citizen to do the best, individually and collectively, for achieving excellence in life. So, we should rise to the occasion and discharge this important fundamental duty.
