Heads rolled in Okhla after AAP humiliating defeat in Amanatullah Khan’s bastion in the recently held MCD poll 2022, according to reliable sources.
According to AAP leader Sibgatullah Khan, the whole sangathan of AAP Okhla has been dismantled over the party’s poor performance in the civic poll. In five wards of Okhla, AAP was able to win only one seat with its sitting Councillor Wajid Khan losing to Congress Ariba Khan in Abul Fazal Enclave ward. In Zakir Nagar ward also, AAP failed to oust Shoaib Danish who won for the fourth time. Danish wife won with a wafer thin margin.
AAP leader Saud Khan said Qadir Choudhary, ward president, Gaffar, vice president and Hassan Iqbal, ward sangathan mantri have been removed.
It is understood that new committee will be formed soon to revive party’s fortune in Okhla.
Amanatullah close aide Engineer Jabir has also been removed from ward position.
