Altercation at times can go out of hand. And this exactly happened with 22-year-old girl who hired an auto from Shaheen Bagh for a ride to New Friends’ Colony Community Centre.

According to police, after reaching NFC’s CC market an altercation took place between her and auto driver over issue of fare.

Mehreen Riyaz had hired the auto from her PG in Shaheen Bagh.

“The auto driver infuriated and attacked her with a sharp object and she received injuries at her lower abdomen at right side,” said police.

The incident took place at around 8.30 pm on Monday but was reported after about 5 hours from the hospital, said police.
On her complaint, a case has been registered at PS NFC and further investigation has been taken up, said police.

Efforts are being made to identify the auto driver.

In another case, according to PTI, on March 4 the Delhi Police arrested a 24-year-old autorickshaw driver for allegedly misbehaving with a woman journalist during a ride in Bharat Nagar.
A few days ago the journalist had tweeted about the incident.

“I took an auto from my home to a friend’s place. After a while, I noticed that the driver was looking at me through the side mirrors of the auto, precisely at my breasts. I shifted a bit towards right and wasn’t visible in the left side mirror,” the woman journalist said in a tweet. “He then started looking into the right side of the mirror. I then shifted to the extreme left and wasn’t visible in any of the mirrors. He then started looking back again and again to see me. I first tried using the safety feature of @uber, but to no avail,” she said in another tweet.
