Roadside garbage clean up during day time causes traffic snarl in Abul Fazal Enclave
Authorities appear to be turning a blind eye to traffic disruptions caused by compactors used for clearing garbage during daytime in Abul Fazal Enclave. On Friday when one such cleaning was being carried out at 3 pm in AFE, commuters, including motorists, found themselves at the receiving end.
Many residents who were finding it difficult to even breathe clean air due to the putrid smell coming out from the garbage by lifted said usually such cleaning operation should be carried during night to avoid traffic snarl.
“It is a menace faced by people plying on this road,” said one resident. “The smell is so strong that it becomes very suffocating to pass from here when there is traffic jam.
Residents said they suffer a lot when the compactors come in their way, slowing vehicular movement.
