Eid festivities return after 2 years, huge crowd at Kalindi Kunj on day 2
With no curbs, Eid 2022 festivities have returned in India, including Okhla, after two years hiatus. On day 2 of the festival, a large number of people were seen lining outside Kalindi Kunj park to enjoy some quality time with family members in the open.
On Eid day on May 3 the festival was celebrated with great religious fervour and gaiety with people visiting local mosques in the morning to offer Eid prayer. Special arrangement for women was made at Jamaat mosque in Abul Fazal Enclave. With men, women too were seen at the mosque and they offered their namaz on the top floor of the newly expanded mosque.
If there was huge crowd in markets of Shaheen Bagh, Batla House, Zakir Nagar, shoppers were seen in trying to make their ways on Chand Night also. Many girls were seen rushing to parlours to get mehndi. Looking at the huge demand, mehndi artistes asked for exorbitant prices. The festive mood was carried on day 2 also as was visible at Kalindi Kunj park, where e-rickshaw and auto drivers were seen doing good business. Residents from Jaitpur, Badarpur, Shram Vihar and Jamia Nagar were seen in huge numbers at the park. It is another story that their celebrations were spoiled by the rain which helped in cooling the city’s hot weather on Wednesday.
