Get Covid jab, avail extra rebate in property tax: SDMC

Standing Committee Chairman Rajdutt Gahlot today said that the civic agency has decided to allow special incentives in the form of additional rebate to the owners/taxpayers of residential properties if they get vaccinated.

Property owners/taxpayers, who take Covid-19 vaccine after fulfilling the criterion, will get an additional rebate of 5 per cent in payment of property tax. An office order in this regard has been issued by the concerned department of the SDMC and all eligible persons can avail the facility.

Gahlot said the entire world is reeling due to Covid-19 pandemic hence the need of the hour to encourage people for vaccination.
The SDMC is also making all efforts to encourage more and more people for vaccination and the move to provide an additional rebate of 5 per cent in property tax after getting the vaccine will attract more people for this cause.

Through such ways we can get success in ensuring 100 per cent vaccinations of all who have attained the age of 45 years which will further help in containing spread of coronavirus, he said.

Describing about the scheme, Gahlot said the 5 per cent rebate will be an additional benefit and the benefit of 15 per cent rebate for depositing property tax before June 30 will be continued for all.

The 5 per cent rebate will be granted if owners/taxpayers deposit property tax through online and in one installment before June 30, it said.

“This rebate will include a 2 per cent rebate provided for online payment. If payment is being made through offline modes then a rebate of 3 per cent will be given,” it said.


Gahlot said the surge in Covid-19 cases in the city is a serious concern. Considering the seriousness of the issue, focus should be on a massive vaccination drive, he said.

The SDMC is also making its best efforts to ensure vaccination to every eligible person and now it has decided to implement special incentive scheme by providing additional rebate of 5 per cent, it said.
