All ready, but Al Shifa Covid field hospital hits roadblock

Preparations are in full swing for the opening of Al-Shifa Hospital Covid filed hospital at The Scholar School in Abul Fazal Enclave, according to a reliable source with a few photos also surfacing in the virtual world. However, the opening of the hospital might not be smooth, said a source privy to the development, adding that some locals are hell bent upon not letting the centre get functional in the residential area.

The OT’s efforts to reach out to some residents of the lane, who are opposing the establishment of Covid field hospital in the residential area, fearing that the infection might endanger their lives, failed as the phone was not picked up. As we get their version the report will be updated. A resident said such cases not restricted to Okhla only as their is anxiety among residents that it might infect others in the lane and to get this address the best thing is to have interaction between health experts and residents to end such misgivings.

A resident well aware of the development told the OT on the condition of anonymity that a meeting of Jamaat officials who are handling the Covid filed hospital project, with the local resident opposing the move was held on Sunday, yielding no positive results.

The sources said the organisation is well ready to go ahead with the plan as there is urgent need for Covid beds with 2nd wave wreaking havoc with many residents losing their near and dear ones.

The OT has come to know from a reliable source that oxygen will be coming tonight and other facilities are in final stage so that it gets functional as soon as possible.

A few days ago report had surfaced and the OT also reported that how Aster Volunteers tied up with Al Shifa to set up field hospital.
