In US Open 2025 final match Carlos Alcaraz beats Jannik Sinner on Sunday. It is 6th Grand Slam title of his career. The final match was played in New York. Alcaraz, who hails from Spain, won the match 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 and lifted the US Open trophy 2nd time. Sinner is from Italy.

The game was delayed 50 minutes due to security reasons because US President Donald Trump had come to watch the match. When Trump was shown on the screen people started applause and even hooting.

Defeating Sinner means that 22-year-old Alcaraz has once again become the world’s number 1 tennis player. Sinner was number  1 for about 15 months. Earlier, Carlos Alcaraz was number 1 till September 2023.

The final match was played at Arthur Ashe Stadium. Carlos Alcaraz was seen playing aggressively from the beginning. He took a quick lead in the first set and won the set 6-2. Sinner made a comeback in the second set and won the set 6-3. Alcaraz’s played well in the third set. He won the set 6-1 by winning five consecutive games. Sinner also tried in the fourth set, but Alcaraz won the title by winning 6-4.

In total, Carlos Alcaraz hit 42 winners in the match, while Sinner could hit only 21 winners. The Alcaraz won 98 out of a total of 101 service games in the tournament. His service was broken only once in the entire match.

After receiving the US Open 2025 trophy, Carlos Alcaraz said: “My team, my family, I am really lucky to have you guys, to be honest. The hard work you do to make me even better, not only in the professional part, but the personal part as well. Every achievement that I am [making] is thanks to you, and this one is no less, it’s also yours. This tournament is super special for me. It’s a privilege to be a part of this tournament. I just feel at home, feel the energy and feel the love, and I’m just trying to play my best for you guys. You made everything easy.”

Even after the defeat, Sinner congratulated Alcaraz. He said: “You are doing an amazing job.”

“I know a lot of hard work behind this performance today, you were better than me. Enjoy it. It’s a great moment.”

“For me, to achieve that once again, it is a dream,” Alcaraz said. “Doing it on the same day as getting another Grand Slam feels even better. It’s everything I’m working for, and I’m really happy to be able to live these experiences.”

This was the third consecutive Grand Slam final in which Alcaraz and Sinner were face to face. Many big names arrived to watch the match. Basketball star Steph Curry, singer Bruce Springsteen and football manager Pep Guardiola were present in the audience.

Carlos Alcaraz has won six Grand Slams so far and became the second youngest. Only Sweden’s  Bjorn Borg is ahead of him.

This victory of Carlos Alcaraz will be remembered in tennis history. He won the US Open trophy for the second time and also achieved the position of the world’s number-1 player. This defeat was disappointing for Sinner, but this rivalry between the two players is exciting for tennis fans.

Since the start of 2024, Alcaraz and Sinner have ruled the majors, claiming all eight titles between them. Yet, it is the Spaniard who now holds the upper hand in this iconic rivalry winning seven of their last eight encounters, five of their past six finals, and two of the three major finals they have contested in 2025.
