Resident Rana said he was surprised two days ago when he opened his flat door with a man standing at the gate holding a food packet. “The man introduced himself as Rahul Kumar, a manager of an eatery, which we had visited a few days ago. As he had turned up unbidden we were taken aback and on being asked the reason for arrival, smiling Kumar said if you remember during your last visit at our NFC outlet we were not able to give your son cake when he asked for it as the outlet was getting closed. So today I am here to hand over the cake and sweets to your son,” said Rana.

It was then that Rana said he recalled that a few days ago he had taken his two children to the NFC’s Barbeque Nation and when the eatery was unable to serve cake to my 3-year-old son Hamza as it was closing time, Hamza had started crying.

Rana said when he invited Kumar to step in his flat to have a cup of tea, the eatery manager declined saying it is Covid time and  after handing over the food packet he left.

“I immediately could see that Hamza was delighted and rushed to open the packet. And his sister also joined in. We were well impressed by the excellent customer service, which is rare in Jamia Nagar. And just see that this man found our address and certainly must have struggled to reach our flat that too without informing us. But there are some places in the locality where if you point out some improvement in services then the shopkeeper will get deeply upset,” said Rana.

A few days an Okhla Vihar resident had written to the OT, complaining that how he was humiliated by an eatery owner in Jamia Nagar for just pointing out that the food’s quality was not up to mark.

“The eatery was opened a few days ago and so we decided to celebrate our son’s birthday there. We booked a place and went there with other family members, including wife, mother and sister-in-law. The service not up to mark so after finishing the food, when we pointed this out to the owner, he went hopping mad. And started shouting at me and said people who have no money come here and then complaint about food quality. I was deeply upset but on my family member’s suggestion just left the eatery feeling humiliated,” said the resident, requesting anonymity.

Another resident said there are good and bad people both and he pointed out that there are many eateries in Jamia Nagar too which take special care of their customers.
