A resident said how a day ago she saw a woman carrying a child overstepping on a dug-up road in Abul Fazal Enclave under high tension wire.

“The child and woman got hurt with people rushed for her help.  It all happened so fast that the woman was unable to save her toddler as his head banged on the ground. People came to her help. There was no external injury but we don’t know what happened later on as the toddler’s head banged on the road,” said a resident, who saw the incident unfold in front of herself.

She said since the road has been dug up for sewer laying it is very difficult to walk that too in the evening when many local residents turn up to purchase vegetables and fruits from roadside vendors. One has to be very careful while walking one misstep can create problem.

Many residents said they want the sewer work to be finished as soon as possible. But there are many residents who have left things as their fate and have stopped complaining, said a resident.
