Okhla celebrates Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi 2022, procession taken out

Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi 2022 was celebrated with great fervour in Jamia Nagar with many Muslims taking out a procession in the morning on Sunday despite the rain. Like previous years, Batla House was decked up and Zakir Nagar-based Ahle Sunnat Academy continued meeting with people to “inform them about the importance of the day”.

The day is celebrated by some Muslims as the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). In Okhla, Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi is being celebrated since 2002 save during the Covid lockdown and infection restrictions were in order. Those who took part and organised the march are Mohd Shiraz, Syed Atir Ali, Saleem Tehsini, Muzammil.

The march was started with the blessings of Allama Maulana Yaseen Akhtar Misbahi, said Shiraz.

Imaam Qadri Masjid Faizan Naeemi, Madarsa Darul Qalam head Amjad Raza were also present with the residents, he said. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday led the wishes on Eid Milad-Un-Nabi and he tweeted: “Best wishes on Milad-un-Nabi. May this occasion further the spirit of peace, togetherness, and compassion in our society. Eid Mubarak.”

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi tweeted: “Eid Milad-Un-Nabi Mubarak! May this auspicious occasion bring peace, harmony, good health, and prosperity to everyone.”
