She cracked the civil services exam in her second attempt.

This year’s UPSC Civil Services Examination final result has made Jamiaiites delighted after they came to know that one of the iconic university’s 23-year-old student Nadia Beigh has sailed through in India’s most prestigious and tough exams.

For many it turned out to be Eid gift which was marred by virus lockdown. Alumnus Naseemur Rahman said it is really a proud moment that young Nadia has cracked the UPSC.

Born in J&K’s Kupwara, Nadia, who studies Economics (Honours) at Jamia with her parents being government teachers, cleared the exams in her second attempt, ranking 350.

“I don’t know how to express my feelings right now. All credit goes to my family, especially my brother, who encouraged me all through during my studies for civil services,” said Nadia, who has been aiming for the exams after passing her Class XII exams.

In 2017 she came to Jamia to pursue graduation.

“I feel very elated that my hard work has yielded fruit for me,” Nadia told ABP Live, appealing to the students to remain focused to achieve their goal.

30 candidates who received coaching and training in the Residential Coaching Academy (RCA) of Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) have been selected in UPSC’S Civil Services Exam 2019. 25 of them were residing in RCA and 5 were trained at the mock interview programme of the centre. This is the biggest selected group in the country from any public coaching centre.
