500 national flags will be installed in every district of Delhi
On the 75th anniversary of the country’s independence, the Delhi government, led by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, unveiled a “Deshbhakti Budget” of Rs 69 thousand crore for the fiscal year 2021-22.
To commemorate the 75th anniversary of India’s independence, the Government of Delhi’s Public Works Department decided to install massive Tirangas at 75 different locations throughout the city. These tricolours will be flown proudly at a height of 115 feet in the air. This is the first phase of the Delhi government’s National Flag Project. Aside from that, at a cost of Rs 104 crores, a total of 500 flags will be installed in each district of Delhi.

Five such flags were unfurled on Independence Day in 2021, in East Kidwai Nagar, Patparganj, Shakur Basti, Kalkaji and Dwarka. A total of 75 flags were further inaugurated today.
