Snippet: Moongphali Wala braves cold nights

As Okhla shivers with minimum temperature settling at 4 degrees in Delhi, a Moongphali Wala is moving around Jamia Nagar to sell his peanuts. He said he has been selling peanuts in winter for the last 9 years in the locality from 6 pm to 12 pm.

He was able to sell only 3 kilograms of peanuts out of 10 kilograms that he was carrying on his rickety bicycle on Tuesday night.

He said since Covid-induced lockdown in 2020, business has been hit hard and he is unable to sell more peanuts these days.

He has many competitors in the locality too. A few minutes after he moves on another Moongphali Wala comes in to sell his peanuts. A few youths bought half kilogram peanuts. And his story is different from other Moongphali Wala on whom the OT did a story a few days ago.

Peanuts are favourite winter snack as people think it provides warmth to the body and glow to the skin. Also, peanuts are an excellent source of protein.
