After the news of crackdown on black marketing of fake injections used as life saving drugs in Covid and black fungus treatment was aired, Okhla-based resident Nizam was a worried as by mistake some publications, including the NDTV, mentioned name of his pharmacy located in Abul Fazal Enclave, he said.

Following the development, Nizam wrote a letter pointing out the factual error in the reporting. In the letter issued to the media, Nizam said on Tuesday he saw the error being corrected and some accepting their mistakes. He said a Hindi daily which carried the factually incorrect report carried the rebuttal.

“I would like to inform you that a report was aired by you about the black marketing of duplicate medicines of corona and black fungus by your correspondent…,” said Nizam, adding that rather than mentioning the name of Al-Khidmat Medicos many mentioned name of his pharmacy Khidmat Medicos, which was factually incorrect.

“I want to clarify that Khidmat Medicos and Al-Khidmat Medicos are two unique identities and run by different owners. The name you have stated… were working at Khidmat Medicos is wrong. Please rectify the same on your different new portal and television by announcing and making clarification that the guilty persons belong to Al-Khidmat Medicos not of Khidmat Medicos.”

Please rectify the same and inform me and reply through proper channel, otherwise I will be forced to take legal action against you, wrote Mohd Riyazuddin, proprietor of Khidmat Medicos, concurred by Nizam.

The media reported about the story: 10, including two doctors, arrested for selling fake Covid-19 and mucormycosis medicines, reported the HT.

Accordingly, the team used a decoy customer and, along with officials of the drug control department, laid a trap and caught one Waseem Khan from near Jamia Nagar Metro station where he had come to deliver the injections, reported the national daily.

Following which a shop in Jamia Nagar was raided with its owner being arrested.
