“The agenda of the meeting was to discuss the issue of garbage dumping area near Alshifa Hospital just 100m from the hospital and opposite to the residential colony in Abul Fazal Enclave, Okhla,” said Students Islamic Organisation of India Abul Fazal unit, which said it had called the meeting of various organisations on Wednesday in RWA of AFE on Wednesday.

The SIO said the delegation who met Wajid consisted of team from:

“1. SIO with its representative Shujauddin Fahad (president Abul Fazal Unit), Harris Niyazi,  Mohd Rayyan, Asad Falahi, Aeiman.

    1. Aamir Jamaal and Afzal were representative from Society for Bright Future (SBF)
    2. OYF (Okhla Youth Federation) was represented by Rizwaan Khalifa (convener) and Mahmood Anwar.
    3. Marghoub Zaidi (PR Al-Shifa)
    4. Other locals of the area were also present.”

After a long discussion on the various solution options available for the issue, it was decided that a teen shed will be put at that place, said the SIO representative.

It was agreed by all the representatives of the delegation that the representatives would be meeting official accompanied with Wajid soon, said the SIO.

It is understood that the proposal of dumping garbage in Shaheen Bagh strippish area was rejected, said the source, a claim that the OT was unable to verify independently.

This is not for the first time that the issue has been raised.

During the previous local election, an activist nursing political ambition, had sat on strike for days but he left midway, said Okhla watcher, adding that whenever there is election many activists nursing political ambition surface to raise the issue to vanish after election.
