Bike-borne snatcher held within minutes of committing crime in Shaheen Bagh
A bike-borne snatcher was arrested in Shaheen Bagh a few days ago within minutes of committing the crime, according to police.
Snatched mobile phone was recovered from his possession, said the police.
A few days ago during a patrol, the police on patrol saw a person chasing a biker and shouting thief-thief in Shaheen Bagh near a hospital road.
“Sensing that something had gone wrong, the police personnel chased and overpowered the bike rider after a short chase. Meanwhile, the person who was yelling also reached at the spot who stated that he was standing near Cribs hospital carrying his mobile phone in his hand. The accused person came on his bike and snatched his mobile phone,” police said in a statement.
With his arrest, one snatched mobile phone and a motorcycle used in commission of offence was recovered from possession of the youth.
Police said the accused, a school dropout, was addicted to alcohol and drugs and to meet his requirement he indulged in criminal activities.
