The final results for the UPSC Civil Services exam 2021 were announced today on May 30 by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Twenty three aspirants coached at Jamia cleared the exam with Shruti Sharma securing all India Rank 1 in the final result declared today.

All the top three positions are by girl candidates this year.

Jamia Teachers Association said it congratulates Shruti and her family, JMI-RCA, and JMI fraternity and JNU for such a great success! Congrats Shruti a dream success and giving credit to Jamia RCA, it tweeted.

In a statement issued to the media late in the day, the university said it is a matter of great pride for Jamia that Shruti from the Residential Coaching Academy (RCA) of the university secured first rank in UPSC Civil Services Examination- 2021. A total of twenty three  students including nine girls from RCA have been selected in the Civil Services 2021. Many of these selected candidates would get IAS, IPS, IFS and other central services.

Jamia Vice Chancellor Prof. Najma Akhtar went to Shruti’s residence to congratulate her and her family members. She was accompanied by JMI Registrar Prof. Nazim Husain Jafri, Hony. Director RCA Prof. Abid Haleem and PRO JMI.

While interacting with the media, Prof. Akhtar said this is a big achievement for not only her but for the university also. She was particularly happy that nine out of twenty three successful candidates are girls. Prof. Akhtar hoped that this achievement will motivate other students of the centre and will increase their confidence level too.

She also conveyed her best wishes to those students who missed the selection after reaching at interview level.

Apart from this Mehak Jain, an alumna of MA Public Administration, Department of Political Science, JMI also cleared the coveted exam and secured 17th rank.

RCA, JMI have consistently performed well and given good results each year.  The robust coaching, academic environment, professional test series, mock interviews, 24×7 library facilities and excellent peer group are main reasons for its success. So far 270 students have cleared UPSC and 403 candidates have been selected for various State Public Service Commissions, RBI, CAPF etc. and have joined premium services.
