UPSC topper Shruti breaks silence on mushrooming fake accounts in her name on social media
Fake accounts on social media are a menace these days. And when it is floated in name of celebrities or role models then netizens face problem in dealing with which one is right or wrong.
The case in point is surfacing of several fake accounts on social media hours after Shruti Sharma of Delhi topped the UPSC exams. Within a day, such fake accounts were pointed out by netizens and then followed up by several publications busting fake news.
However on Monday during her visit to Jamia Millia Islamia where she got coaching at university’s RCA, she took the stage a few minutes after delivering her first address to point out about the mushrooming misleading accounts on the social media. While addressing the stadium packed gathering of Jamia students and teachers, she said one should be careful as she has noticed and come to know about many misleading accounts.

A resident of Delhi, Shruti is a graduate from St Stephens’ College of Delhi University. She qualified the examination with History as her optional subject and graduated in History (Honours) from University of Delhi. She also went to Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) for her postgraduation.
A native of Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh, she prepared for the Civil Services exams at Jamia Millia Islamia Residential Coaching Academy (RCA), which has a good track record of helping aspirants crack civil services.
