Fake accounts on social media are a menace these days. And when it is floated in  name of celebrities or role models then netizens face problem in dealing with which one is right or wrong.

The case in point is surfacing of several fake accounts on social media hours after Shruti Sharma of Delhi topped the UPSC exams. Within a day, such fake accounts were pointed out by netizens and then followed up by several publications busting fake news.

However on Monday during her visit to Jamia Millia Islamia where she got coaching at university’s RCA, she took the stage a few minutes after delivering her first address to point out about the mushrooming misleading accounts on the social media. While addressing the stadium packed gathering of Jamia students and teachers, she said one should be careful as she has noticed and come to know about many misleading accounts.

She said she would be sharing UPSC tips very soon. Also, she said she is on Telegram. Watch this video to know about her version:

Alt News founder Mohammed Zubair pointed out about mushrooming fake accounts impersonating Shurti. “Soon after Shruti Sharma topped UPSC, People started creating fake accounts in her name. Beware!”

A resident of Delhi, Shruti is a graduate from St Stephens’ College of Delhi University. She qualified the examination with History as her optional subject and graduated in History (Honours) from University of Delhi. She also went to Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) for her postgraduation.
